Urad Dal and Onion Pakoda Recipe
Urad dal andOnion Pakoda by Chef Ajay Chopra shows you how to make the perfect flavourful pakoda tiffin. Just add Kissan Fresh Tomato Ketchup and you can be sure that the pakodas taste just as good during the tiffin break as they do when they’re freshly made.
INGREDIENTS
- Urad dal: 1 cup
- Chopped onions: ½ cup
- Chopped green chilli: 1 tablespoon
- Chopped coriander leaves: 1 tablespoon
- Chopped ginger: 1 teaspoon
- Crushed black peppercorn: 1/4 teaspoon
- Kissan Fresh Tomato Ketchup: 2 tablespoons
- Salt to taste
- Rice flour: 2 tablespoons
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Clean, wash and soak the urad dal in enough water in a deep bowl for 2 hours. Drain well.
- Combine the urad dal and ¾ cup of water in a mixer and blend till smooth.
- Transfer the mixture into a deep bowl and add all the remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Heat the oil in a deep, non-stick pan. Drop a spoonful of the mixture using your fingers and deep-fry a few pakodas at a time on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides.
- Serve immediately with green chutney and Kissan Fresh Tomato Ketchup.
